And now he’s ready to quietly disrupt NYC cocktail culture.
Daisuke Ito, the Tokyo-based mixology master famously flown in by tech tycoon Jeff Bezos to mix martinis at private events, is bringing his acclaimed bar concept to Manhattan. His hidden, nine-seater Tokyo speakeasy, Land Bar Artisan, will expand into a larger 40-seat venue called Land Bar New York, scheduled to open this fall on Greenwich Street in Tribeca above the Wagyu restaurant Nikuya Tanaka. This high-profile debut joins a rising wave of Tokyo-style cocktail bars disrupting New York City's typical nightlife scene by emphasizing premium, farm-fresh ingredients, transparent pricing with a lower overhead markup, and an intimate, calming hospitality experience centered around the shokunin pursuit of artisan perfection.
