Hidden behind Schaller’s Stube Sausage Bar on the Upper East Side is an intimate backyard restaurant, which changes its theme based on the season. In Spring comes Blume modeled after an Austrian wine bar or Heurigen, decorated with chic gold tables and millennial pink chairs, and in the winter Hütte, a cozy outdoor restaurant styled as an Après Ski Lounge which is tented and decorated with intimate string lighting, farmhouse wooden tables, antique chairs, hooks, pine cones, and vintage ski lodge artwork. This is the latest project by third-generation owner of Schaller and Weber, Jeremy Schaller, who turned what was previously storage space into this new concept.
