After the opening of the colossal Mermaid Oyster Bar in Times Square, restaurateurs Cindy Smith, Danny Abrams, and Jeffrey Bank open Bar Mexicana, neighboring the super-sized restaurant. The menu offers Times Square diners a budget-friendly and speedy experience, of traditional Mexican fare offering tacos for $5 each, and shareable plates. The space, which holds 100 plus guests, is done in a vibrant pallet of warm tones. Upon entering, patrons are greeted with a bright red backdrop atop the bamboo-lined bar for both standing and sitting.
