Swanky Indian restaurants are ascendant on Long Island, and raising the bar even higher is Bhaijaan, which just opened in Hicksville.
Bhaijaan, a glamorous new Indian restaurant, has recently opened in Hicksville, Long Island, taking over the former Trullo D’Oro space and transforming it into a high-end dining destination inspired by mid-century Bombay nightclubs. Owned by the Sabharawal family—former operators of Manhattan’s Pippali—the restaurant aims to fill a local void for upscale Indian dining suitable for dates or business meetings. The kitchen is led by Chef Kuwar Pal Singh, a veteran of New Delhi and Manhattan's Tamarind, who offers a diverse menu ranging from Delhi-style butter chicken and Lucknowi galouti kebabs to unique vegan options like smoked sweet potato chaat. Complementing the food is a sophisticated bar program featuring cocktails infused with traditional Indian ingredients like paan-masala and cardamom, alongside a curated wine list.
