Michael Imperioli — aka Christopher Moltisanti from The Sopranos — has teamed with his set‑designer wife Victoria and Upper West Side restaurateur Jeremy Wladis to debut Scarlet, a 40‑seat, 500‑square‑foot Art Deco speakeasy at 468 Amsterdam Avenue (between 82nd and 83rd Streets). Styled after 1920s Paris/New York, the lounge pours Matt Burkhardt’s craft cocktails (including a “White Lotus” clarified punch that nods to Imperioli’s HBO role) alongside tapas‑style bites such as lollipop lamb chops au jus and foie‑gras torchon. Imperioli plans to book jazz, DJ sets, and spoken‑word acts, drawing on his past running Chelsea’s Ciel Rouge and inspired by a newfound ancestor who ran a Prohibition‑era speakeasy. Framed as a “higher‑end cocktail lounge built for people on the Upper West Side,” Scarlet aims to be an inclusive neighborhood haven where guests can arrive in jeans or a tux and unwind in Victoria’s mood‑rich interior.
