Adda Indian Canteen—chef Chintan Pandya and restaurateur Roni Mazumdar’s breakout Indian spot—has closed its cramped Long Island City digs and will relaunch on May 1 in a roomier East Village address at 107 First Avenue. The new location, more than twice the size, keeps signature touches like Bollywood-papered walls and a chalkboard sign, while doubling down on the group’s “unapologetic” regional cooking: dishes such as goat-brain bheja fry with offal butter, mawa-rich haleem with paratha, and both beef and vegetarian keema rolls join a cocktail list flavored with raita, chutneys, and house-brew collaborations. Walk-ins are welcome from day one, with reservations opening May 9; meanwhile, the original Queens space will become Unapologetic Foods’ catering and R&D hub as the team pauses its planned kebab offshoot to focus on this next chapter.
