From soulful to splashy, a handful of debuts to keep an eye on this season
Manhattan’s dining scene is set for a significant transformation this spring with a diverse array of high-profile openings ranging from soulful neighborhood spots to sprawling culinary destinations. Among the most anticipated debuts is One Bryant Park, a massive 10,000-square-foot Japanese complex inside the Bank of America Tower that will house three distinct concepts, including the fine-dining flagship and a relocation of the acclaimed Kappo Sono. Pizza enthusiasts can look forward to the first U.S. location of Pizza Studio Tamaki in the East Village, where chef Tsubasa Tamaki will serve his signature Tokyo-style Neapolitan pies baked with Japanese cedar shavings. Other major highlights include Daniel Boulud’s grand French brasserie on the Upper West Side, a Southern-style buffet from the Kisa team, and the American arrival of Mexico City’s Michelin-starred Taquería El Califa de León.
