Melba’s Newark marks the expansion of Melba Wilson’s beloved Harlem restaurant to downtown Newark. The 60-seat restaurant brings Wilson’s celebrated Southern comfort and modern soul food to a new audience, serving signature dishes such as Southern fried chicken with eggnog waffles, BBQ braised short ribs, and the restaurant’s famed mac and cheese. The 6,500-square-foot space also includes a fast-casual counter with its own street entrance as well as a large production kitchen that will anchor Melba’s growing catering operation throughout Northern New Jersey. Designed as both a neighborhood gathering place and an operational hub for the brand, the project reflects Wilson’s continued expansion across hospitality, sports venues, and retail.
