Yuu Murakami
Office K2M, Tokyo
As one of the only public relations professionals for Japan’s hospitality industry, Yuu is a pioneer in a business that knows no boundaries. From 1994 she has been involved in the hospitality industry, whether she was writing about restaurants editorially, or consulting with clients to help their business expand. Her passion about this industry has traveled with her as she has made her way across Europe, and the United States to learn about the culture of dining, and see what insights she could bring back to her native Japan. After living in Italy for three years, Yuu returned to Japan, and began to work at Oraian Inc., a restaurant management company where she was an Italian interpreter, did public relations, handled food and wine imports, and event planning. If that’s not enough, she also became the editor of Arigatt, a food magazine and became an advisor for Kohmen; ramen shops with 8 locations. Throughout her career, Yuu has worked with the Japan divisions of large corporations, such as Heinz and Coca-Cola, and worked with individual restauranteurs to advise them on concept development, growth potential and their public relations campaigns.
