Annam Tân will open in Midtown early next year.
Sawasdee Hospitality Management, the team behind popular New York City Thai spots Soothr and Sappe, is expanding into Vietnamese cuisine with a massive 11,000-square-foot restaurant called Annam Tân in Midtown East, slated to open around February. Led by executive chef and partner Joel Chidensee Watthanawongwat—whose family background spans Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand—the restaurant will serve as a culinary memoir exploring Vietnamese heritage and its connections to the broader Indochinese region through a contemporary lens. Located at 33 E. 33rd Street, the space draws its design inspiration from French Indochine, featuring a dramatic bar overhang, vibrant murals, and lush pops of green and yellow.
