Pizza Studio Tamaki opens in the East Village with those Tokyo-style Neapolitan pies soon
Pizza Studio Tamaki, the acclaimed Tokyo-based pizzeria, is set to make its official New York City debut on May 5 in the East Village at 123 St. Marks Place. Following a successful pop-up earlier this year, Chef Tsubasa Tamaki is bringing his signature "Tokyo-style Neapolitan" pies to a permanent 65-seat space, featuring a 30-hour fermented dough baked in a wood-burning oven seasoned with Japanese cedar. The menu highlights unique offerings like the Tamaki pie and the egg-topped Bismarck, alongside sides such as arancini and meatballs. Operated in partnership with the Chicago-based Moody Tongue group, the restaurant will also feature Japanese citrus lagers and cocktails, with reservations currently available through Seven Rooms.
