Akhtar Nawab, one of New York’s most versatile chefs, is opening a new 60-seat restaurant and bar next door to his popular Michelin Bib Gourmand recognized Alta Calidad. Graced with a wood burning oven, the eclectic menu will focus on foods that will be cooked within it and reflective of Chef Akhtar’s varied career cooking American, Mediterranean and Mexican cuisines for the past 25 years of his professional life. The menu will feature items such as Kulchas (a type of laminated dough - Arab in descent), eggplant and walnuts; Merguez Popovers with chanterelle butter; Oven Baked Duck Egg, potato mille feuille, chips, fonduta; Roasted sardines, fregola, fennel pollen, roasted tomatoes, mint; and Marmitako, a Basque fish stew.
